On-road, the HiLux is a definite improvement over the previous generation. The new diesel engines (there are 2.4 and 2.8-litre models) give you punchy, linear performance, and they’re noticeably less clattery than the old 3.0 litre. In terms of on-road ride, the Navara is a winner.
